Project 2 - Development of catalogues using the ICNP®

Development of catalogues using the ICNP® version 2, for improvement of the nursing care quality, in the dimensions of “self-control”, “management of therapeutic regimen”, “long-term care”, “self-care dependency” and related “family member caregiver role”.

Objective 2A:

To develop frameworks based on the core areas of nursing.

Activities:

1. Describe the model of nursing practice in use
2. Identify with nurses the main components of nursing documentation, in terms of diagnosis, interventions and nursing sensitive outcomes
3. Define a valid framework for nursing action 

Objective 2B:

To develop and implement the use of ICNP® version 2 in nursing practice through the reflection in action.

Activities:

1. Describe the significance of each term for nursing practice;
2. Test in clinical settings the use of nursing diagnoses, interventions and outcomes.

Objective 2C:

To integrate ICNP® version 2 as the classified language in nursing documentation.

 Activities:

1. Develop nursing diagnoses, interventions and outcomes;
2. Develop ICNP® catalogues.

Outcome:

• The dissemination and use of the ICNP® catalogues in nursing teaching and practice
